While our industry is not indestructible by any means, it is a necessary solution for peace of mind; something that is harder and harder to come by. This need has created much more stability for our specific market during this time of crisis.
The goal of our industry is not to capitalize on chaos, but to secure and safeguard those who have sought our help. We have seen this in the heroic actions taken by those in our field. Time and time again, we have seen dealers, monitoring stations, and miscellaneous groups offer up their services for reduced or deferred payments, increasing their product through the addition of services or goods, and even competitors band together and share ideas to help one another through the pandemic.
The coronavirus crisis will undeniably cause a lasting effect on the public. We will see new technology implemented everywhere. For example, robots could rise in popularity due to the lessening of a risk of exposure. Thermal sensors implemented in video surveillance could be another alternative that is sought after. Access control could be another form of security that becomes widely utilized, keeping those that fall under the “at-risk” category away from others, operating similarly to an app created by Google and Apple.
