A company known as Vayyar is working to change the way we look at fall detection. Instead of medical pendants that can be forgotten to be worn, Vayyar has created a fall detection device that mounts to a wall, and uses 3D imaging to scan for movement.
The device, known as Walabot Home, is made to be placed in a bathroom, where 80% of falls happen. It uses motion sensors to detect when a person goes from standing to falling down, and will then alert the user’s emergency contact.
