TMA Ops-Tech Moving To A Virtual Event

Aug 6, 2020 7:45:00 AM

As the security industry continues to see event cancellations left and right due to the pandemic, the TMA 2020 Ops-Tech event will continue on — virtually.

Event Details

The spread of the COVID-19 virus is hitting a second major wave, and the Board of Directors for The Monitoring Association felt that it was in the best interest of all potential attendees to shift the event from an in-person event to a virtual one. Of course, holding the event online does provide both the event holders and attendees with schedule flexibility, as well as cost benefits.

The meetings for the event occur:

  • Oct. 27-29 - 2020 Annual Meeting Education Sessions
  • Nov 9-12 - Ops-Tech Education Sessions (with a focus on operations)
  • Nov 17-18 - One-day video security track and focus on technology

It’s great to see that TMA is working on providing the security monitoring industry with a great event while making it safe for attendees who might not feel comfortable with traveling quite yet. About the event, TMA President Don Young said, “We anticipate a heightened comfort level with the registration for each event and hope everyone can enjoy the savings and convenience from avoiding travel, but still have access to programs and networking opportunities using the latest collaboration technologies that all of us have been forced to adopt in the recent months.”

What To Expect

Without having to travel, this actually provides more opportunity for security dealers and integrators to attend the event, which can make networking more opportunistic and powerful.

Holding the event during this unprecedented time will also provide dealers valuable insight on how companies have navigated the pandemic. John Brady, TMA Education Committee Chair said, “The educational portion of our fall events reflects the current, unprecedented business landscape for monitoring and installation companies of all sizes.”

We see this virtual event as a great opportunity for all dealers to come together, learn and continue to succeed during and after the pandemic.
