Alarm Operator Prevents Thousands Of Dollars In Water Damage

Riverside, CT–Every homeowner has had this fear – that a pipe will break, leak or something will catch on fire and damage everything in your home.

On March 22nd Ken’s flood sensor was triggered. Immediately, AvantGuard team member Travis received the signal and called Ken. Thankfully Ken decided to answer the usually unwanted call at 1am. Travis proceeded to advise Ken that his flood sensor had been triggered. Ken thanked him for the call and proceeded to call his neighbor and see if he would go check on his house.

Ken’s neighbor agreed to go over and check on the home. Upon entering he knew something was wrong. He soon discovered that the water purification unit under the sink was spilling water. By this time water was getting everywhere. The neighbor immediately shut the water off to the house.

Ken later told AvantGuard that had he not installed this alarm system, he would not have known about the water leaking till 9pm that night! (12 hours of water draining into his house…) Ken commented: "I can only imagine the thousands and thousands of dollars in damage that it would have cost had I not been notified when I did.”
