We Love Our Community

Jul 27, 2021 10:30:00 AM

We love serving you and your customers! We also feel that same sense of commitment to service in our community.

Events

AG stages a variety of events and service projects every year in support of our community. Over the last eight years we’ve held an annual 5K in Ogden, UT and Rexburg, ID, where our central stations are located, to help local families in the community who are facing financial strain due to medical issues.

We look for local businesses to sponsor the event each year. Plus, those who participate in the 5K pay a small fee, and 100% of all the donations, proceeds and sponsorship money goes to the families in need. President of AvantGuard, Justin Bailey said “These are most often young families who may not have financial stability, or clear answers to a really difficult situation. Our goal is to provide as much support as possible by donating the money we raise from the race and sponsorships.”

Although in 2020 our annual 5K had to be put on pause, this year we will be hosting our annual 5K. For more information, or if you would like to donate, visit our Ogden and Rexburg 5K websites

In 2020, AG still put together an event to give back. The AG Hike-a-Thon for suicide prevention allowed AG employees to raise money for the Utah chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), while taking advantage of our beautiful Utah mountain trail systems. Participants tracked how many miles they hiked, and were encouraged to donate any amount they wanted for hiking to a GoFundMe page set up by the organization.

At the end of the event, AvantGuard employees hiked over 400 miles and raised over $8,200 for the Utah Chapter of the AFSP.

Employee Contribution Program

Many of our employees at AvantGuard come from and live in the local community. And we understand that difficult times can fall on someone within the organization, too. AvantGuard has an Employee Contribution Program to help fellow team members in need. For those who opt-in, a few dollars are deducted from every pay check and put into an emergency support fund. The money that is pooled from this program can be allocated to team members who have experienced unexpected financial emergencies. The most amazing part about this is, these are our team members helping each other out — true person to person community support.

Why We Love

“As an organization dedicated to service, we wanted to create a company-wide culture that looked beyond our team and into the community,” said Bailey. “This builds deeper connections to each other and our community. We want to show that we truly care.”
