ISC brings more than 30,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors from the security world. It can be a lot to navigate without a bit of insight and pre-planning. We want you to maximize your experience there. It’s a great way to rub shoulders and share ideas with the most important people and businesses in the security industry. Below are some tips on how to prepare for ISC West 2020.
As you begin to plan, you should consider the following:
To get the best deals and get a hotel that’s near or sponsored by ISC West, you are going to want to book a hotel room early. Discounts for this year’s event ends on Friday, February 21st, 2020. Booking before then will save your and your company money.
There are several ways to book a hotel, but ISC West has a page dedicated to booking. Through the ISC West website, you can book a hotel that is an official ISC West hotel and get discounts and special perks like free shuttles to the event. You can book an ISC West hotel here.
If you’ve ever been to any major showcase, whether CES, or ISC West, it is critical that you wear comfortable shoes. You don’t realize now, but if you are attending the event, or if your company has a booth for the first time, you are going to be on your feet for 12-14 hours. That is a long time, especially if you are wearing uncomfortable shoes. Wearing comfortable shoes will make the event much more manageable. It is hard to be at your best when all you can think about is how sore your feet are.
You’ll also want to take breaks and relax when you can. AvantGuard will have a room to kick your feet back, have a drink and relax. All you need to do to enjoy this is fill out the free registration form.

A schedule will help you maximize your time, and ensure that you are able to meet with the people that you want to speak to. Reach out to specific companies and see if you can schedule a time to meet. This will help you better manage your time and obtain an uninterrupted meeting.
There are fewer things that are more frustrating at ISC West than running late to a booth and swimming through people to try and get a bit of time with an already occupied company. To get their full attention, and present yourself in an organized way, you’ll want to schedule appointments to meet.
ISC West is huge. It is really easy to get lost or turned around, trust us. It’s a great idea to review the floor plan to see where all the exhibits are going to be. The showroom floor can truly be overwhelming if you don’t have a sense of where you are, or where you are going.
Once you have mapped out where you are going and what time, you can begin to plan how to get there. Again, because of the amount of people and how big ISC West is, you don’t realize how long it takes to get from one place to another. Scheduling meetings with 10 minutes between one another is not a good idea. Having a good grasp on the floor plan allows you to plan accordingly and gives you a realistic idea on exactly how much time you need to get from one area to another.
Also, make sure you leave time for you to do some exploring. We know you are there for business, but ISC West is a great opportunity to learn and discover what’s new in the security world. We highly recommend giving yourself enough time to see what’s happening on the showroom floor.
Getting prepared for ISC West can be time consuming, and frankly, a bit confusing. AvantGuard wants to help you have the best experience possible. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions about ISC WEST, so you can maximize your experience there. Have a great ISC West!
