Ray Refuerzo 
Vice President of Operations,  AvantGuard Monitoring Centers

Ray was born in Chicago and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He studied Mechanical Engineering as an undergrad at UC Berkeley, then later returned for his master’s in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. He's worked in several different industries. First, as a process engineer at GE Power Systems. Then, after grad school, he switched gears to financial services, landing at Providian Financial-turned-WaMu-turned-Chase, working in several business and operations roles.

After Chase, he went into small business consulting and nonprofit management. Most recently, he took a startup opportunity at LendingClub, a pioneer in peer-to-peer lending company where he helped grow its operations from 20 to 600+ people in four years, leading several operations functions. In 2019, he moved to Utah to help build a new 500-person site and never looked back. He joined AG in April of 2021 as the Vice President of Operations.

Ray loves leading and developing people while building strong workplace cultures. He enjoys solving operations problems with innovation and data. He's also passionate about making customers happy.
