Fingerprint Revenues Fall Globally During COVID

Due to the relatively high levels of sanitization required for COVID-19 prevention and restricted budgets during business shutdown, biometric device sales have taken a huge hit. Specifically, fingerprint biometric device sales have fallen nearly 22% globally.

While this may sound alarming, the reasons are understandable, to say the least. The market is projected to rise again in 2021, and the biometric market in general is expected to total $40 billion in revenue by 2025.

Business Security During the Holidays

Last week, we talked about increasing home security in preparation for the holidays. This week, we shifted gears and talk about keeping businesses safe and secure during the holiday season. Porch pirates aren’t the only threats, after all.

According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, robbery and personal larceny generally rise by 20% over the holidays. Talking to Your Customers About Fire Alarms During The Holiday Season

Nearly 2,000 people die annually to residential fires according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. It’s no secret that the upcoming holidays see a rise in the number of these fires, either.

Just between 2013-17, Christmas tree decoration related fires caused $10 million in damages and 160 deaths. Talk to your customers about maintaining and having their fire alarms monitored.
