One Billion Cameras Expected to be Installed by 2021

While surveillance cameras are no new concept, the industry continues to expand rapidly. According to a study from IHS Market, by 2021, they are projecting more than one billion surveillance cameras to be installed worldwide. While this is an incredible feat, it shouldn’t come without caution; one billion security cameras means one billion potential cybersecurity issues.

How the LAFD Use Drones for Fire Monitoring

New technology is always being developed, especially for emergency response and rescue. The Los Angeles fire department is taking full advantage of this. They have been using a fleet of 11 drones to successfully map out local wildfires. While helicopters can take up to an hour to arrive at the scene, a drone can go up instantly and provide immediate feedback for the firefighters themselves, saving a significant amount of time.
