Sumter, SC - AvantGuard operators handle hundreds, if not thousands, of alarm signals every single day. While most of these signals turn out to be meaningless, every once and awhile, a call comes through where we are poised to make the difference between life and death.
This is exactly the situation that Dana found herself in, one uneventful Monday evening. After what was seemingly a normal day, Dana started to prepare herself with her usual bedtime routine. All of a sudden, she thought she heard a loud noise that sounded like glass shattering coming from the other room. The problem was that Dana lived alone.
As her worst nightmare became turned into a reality, Dana remembered that she had recently purchased a PERS device. After grabbing it and pressing the button rapidly, Dana told our operators that she needed the police, immediately, as there were intruders in her home. We were able to dispatch the police in a timely manner, and the suspect that invaded Dana’s home was brought to justice.
Thanks to the incredible response from our operators and first responders, Dana has reported back and told us that she is “...feeling just fine,” and would never choose a different PERS device.
