AvantGuard Monitoring Centers has invested heavily to be able to offer our Dealers and their Subscriber's two fully hot redundant, UL 2050 and UUFX listed Central Station Alarm Association 5 Diamond Certified central stations located in Ogden Utah and Tacoma Washington.
Because of this commitment to redundancy, AvantGuard is recognized as an elite monitoring company within the alarm industry. Robert Dyer, AvantGuard's Information Technologies Department Manager, and Scott Rich, AvantGuard's Vice President of Information Technology are the men responsible for the development and maintainence of AvantGuard's state of the art systems.
Robert Dyer joined AvantGuard in 1994. He has served the company in many different capacities in his 16 plus years ranging from Central Station Operator to Central Station Assistant Manager. Robert's natural interests and talents led him to gravitate toward the technology side of the business and has led him to his current assignment as the company's IT Manager.
Robert's experience and skill set have literally grown up in conjunction with the evolution of central station equipment. He has a tremendous working knowledge of all of AvantGuard's central station equipment in both of the company's monitoring facilities. Chances are that if there is a vital piece of equipment within the company, Robert either installed it, or is charged with maintaining it, or both. He plays a vital role in the company's ability to deliver great service, as well as fast and accurate response times to our dealers, and their subscribers.
The man charged with oversight and adminstration of all of the company's technology systems and equipment is Scott Rich, AvantGuard's Vice President of Information Technologies.
Scott joined the AvantGuard Monitoring Centers Executive Team in January of 2009 and brought with him a wealth of education and experience in the information and telecommunications fields. Scott is a 1999 graduate of Weber State University in Ogden Utah, and holds a Batchelors Degree in Telecommunication Administration. He also taught as adjunct faculty in the Telecommunication and Business Education Department at WSU from 2000 to 2006.
Scott has been working with computers and networks for over 20 years and has a solid foundation of IP routing, switching, and LAN/WAN interconnectivity. He also has over two years of experience with Asterisk and VoIP technologies. Scott has also held many executive level Information Technologies administration positions including having been the founder and Chief Executive Office of Apia Tech, Inc.
